Help Transcribe Howard Zinn’s Materials

blue and gray text with icons

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Howard Zinn’s birthday in 2022, we are creating new ways to engage with his life and legacy. In addition to the Howard Zinn Papers archived at Tamiment Library, there are hundreds of archival materials we are aiming to have digitized and/or transcribed.

We are seeking volunteers to help us achieve this goal with our first priority on audio and visual materials. We have raw transcriptions that need review and clean up. If you have a good ear for voices and/or are adept at typing and using editing tools (i.e., Google Docs, Microsoft Word, online text editors), please consider helping out!

The training sessions are held quarterly. We use Otter.ai, an all-in-one software that allows you to listen and type in the same window. Training and troubleshooting provided.

If you have any questions, please email us at admin [at] howardzinn [dot] org.
