The 2020 Howard Zinn Memorial Lecture features Ibram X. Kendi in conversation with Nina Silber on Dec. 7 at 5pm EST. Kendi is professor, anti-racist activist, and historian of race and discriminatory policy, and the founding director of Boston University’s Center for Antiracist Research. Kendi is also the author of the National Book Award winning Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America and New York Times bestselling How to Be an Antiracist.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of A People's History of the United States, and the 10th anniversary of Howard Zinn's death on January 27, 2010. No doubt, Zinn's writing and life of activism inspired many worldwide, and A People's History continues to shine a light on the people left out of the mainstream history books and media.
David W. Blight, Sterling Professor of History at Yale University, delivered the fourth Howard Zinn Memorial Lecture at Boston University on Monday, Dec. 2. Blight's topic is "Frederick Douglass: Prose Poet of American Democracy." The event took place at Tsai Performance Center.
Historian Eric Foner spoke at the Howard Zinn Memorial Lecture Series on the topic of "The Second Founding: How the Civil War and Reconstruction Forged a Constitutional Revolution." The event took place at Boston University on March 19, 2019.
The fifth annual Howard Zinn Book Fair will take place on Sunday, Dec. 2, at the San Francisco City College Mission Campus from 10am-6pm. This year’s theme is "Fighting for the Air We Breathe."
The third annual Howard Zinn Book Fair was held in San Francisco on December 4, 2016. Historian Carl Mirra shared with us a description of one of the sessions at the book fair. Mirra describes the panel “Making of a Radical Historian: Howard Zinn & War” where he was one of the presenters along with Ambre Ivol and Luke Stewart.

The 10th anniversary edition of Voices of a People’s History, a companion to Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States, features new voices including whistleblower Chelsea Manning, Naomi Klein, speaker from the Occupy Wall, Dream Defenders, and Glenn Greenwald.
Voices of a People’s History of the United States, The New School for Public Engagement, and Seven Stories Press, in association with Haymarket Books, present a special evening of music and readings to celebrate the tenth-anniversary edition of Voices of a People’s History of the United States.
Bob Weick enters his 10th season performing Howard Zinn’s play, Marx in Soho, with performances scheduled for Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.
