New American Classic Edition of “A People’s History”

To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, HarperCollins has released an American Classics series with selected titles from their catalog they identify as “books that define a nation.”

In addition to Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States (1980), also included in the American Classics series are Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston (1937); Silent Spring by Rachel Carson (1962); The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin (1974); The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver (1998); All About Love by bell hooks (1999); The Collected Poetry of Nikki Giovanni by Nikki Giovanni (2003); South to America by Imani Perry (2022); and many more.
